As you can see by visiting the
link at
http://www.immigration-information.com,
the ImmInfo forum site has
undergone a complete makeover.
We hope that users will find
the new site easier to navigate
and that information will be
easier to locate. The new site
has four tabs across the top of
the page: Home, Forum, Blogs,
and What's New?
The
Home tab will bring you to the
Front Page.
In the left column of this
page, you will see three
separate areas. The first,
Sections, lists the major
subject matter sections for
articles. The second,
Categories, lists the specific
subject matter categories that
fall within the larger sections
listed immediately above.
Finally, the third area, Recent
Articles, lists the titles of
the most recently posted
articles.
The middle
column contains article titles
and summaries. These articles
are presented in order of the
most recent at the top of the
column and the older articles
toward the bottom. This area is
useful for examining new
articles. To find older
articles, go to the Sections
and/or Categories areas in the
left column.
The right
column shows recent blog posts
and recent forum posts. You may
click on the highlighted links
for the blog entries or
postings to be taken directly
to the posting specified.
The
Forum tab
takes you to the traditional
discussion forum. Not much has
changed here.
The
Blogs tab
takes you to the Blog area. We
plan to post all new articles
here before moving them to the
Home page. This area is
searchable. For the time being,
we plan to disable the comments
function, preferring that
visitors post their comments in
the forum area instead. In this
way, we can consolidate all
questions and comments into one
area.
Finally, the
What's New tab
will take you to a
chronological listing (newest
first) of all recently posted
articles, blogs, and forum
posts.
I've also decided
to change the settings on this
site to allow the posting of
comments to Blog entries and
Front Page articles. I did not
enable those settings initially
because I was concerned that
visitors would be confused and
have difficulty following the
various posts and comments.
That problem has been
solved by the What's New? tab
on the menu bar above. If you
click on the What's New? tab,
you will see all new articles,
blog entries, forum posts, and
replies to each of those.
For the short term, I plan
to leave this new policy in
effect to see how things work.
